Lets Gather

In Rhonda's Weekend Reading List (here) she listed an article called "Our Year Without Groceries" which certainly had me hooked.   Fantastic article but then i kept reading the others in the issue.   Its addictive, i just want more.  So inspirational.  See if you can resist.

Issue 1 - Come Together

Issue 2 - Wellness

  1. a very good article that one, i saw it on FB ages ago & was totally amazed with the boy jack, that kid is going places when older.
i haven't been to a supermarket for nearly a year now & honestly don't miss it, i buy from my local shops & try to grow vegies & buy from my local market, i also help out at our local market gardens so do get vegies regularly. it's quite an inspiring story & i loved little house on the prairie as a kid, though am guessing the books are very different to the tv show. would love to be that self sufficient.
hope you had a great weekend

  3. Very interesting. Reminds me of Barbara Kingsolver's family with their commitment to eat only local for a year (Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. )There's a blogger in New York who has committed to trying something similar - e-i-e-i-omg!. Me, I spend most of my grocery budget at the feed store!

  4. Thanks for the links Leigh. Truly, if i come back as a critter then i want to live on your property. You go to so much effort to ensure they are well fed and healthy. Preferably it would be one of your pets though and not one destined for the dinner table.
